Éderson has made it clear that he plans to stick with Manchester City, putting to rest any speculation regarding his future at the Etihad Stadium for the upcoming season.
Last summer, the Brazilian goalkeeper was rumored to be on his way out, with clubs from Saudi Arabia expressing interest. However, he ultimately chose to remain with City. This summer, similar rumors have resurfaced, prompting Éderson to affirm his dedication to the club.
“My head is here,” he stated, emphasizing his loyalty. “It stays with City. I want to compete in the Premier League again and aim for the Champions League. My mind is set on the club.”
Although Al Nassr had shown interest in Éderson last year, manager Pep Guardiola confirmed that City never received a satisfactory offer. The goalkeeper, who remains under contract for another year, expressed frustration over the flood of misinformation surrounding his name.
“Some friends send me a lot of news, but 99% is fake news. I understand the media needs content to generate engagement, but much of it is inaccurate,” he remarked.
Éderson, alongside goalkeepers Stefan Ortega and Marcus Bettinelli, is gearing up for participation in the Club World Cup. Bettinelli has recently signed a one-year deal after moving from Chelsea, while Ortega’s future remains uncertain as he, too, has just a year left on his contract.
As for Ortega, he has been linked with a potential transfer to Germany but has refrained from commenting on his future, stating it’s too early for such discussions.
